Disposing of your RELX Prefilled Pod

Once the e-liquid in your pod has depleted, RELX Pods can be removed and safely disposed of in general household waste as they contain no batteries. 

The pod kit devices, however, are not designed for disassembly at home and cannot be placed in household or public bins due to the fire hazard posed by their batteries.

Instead, you must either:

1. Recycle them in a recycling scheme at a participating retailer.
2. Take them to the small electricals bin (WEEE) at your local recycling and household waste site, or
3. Arrange for your Council to collect them in their small electrical collection (where service is available).

Learn how to use your vape properly

It is important to inhale and exhale properly when using a vape as incorrect inhalation can lead to a big nicotine rush. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for your device. When selecting a vape, choose one with all the necessary features, safety, reliability, and durability. Never share your device to avoid contracting diseases.

Avoid e-liquids with high nicotine content

E-liquids contain various chemicals, some safe to consume and others not. Nicotine, one of the most hazardous ingredients used in cigarettes and e-liquids, is highly addictive and raises the risk of respiratory (breathing) problems.

Avoid e-liquids with a nicotine content above 20mg when refilling vape kits and pods. This level of nicotine is not legal in the UK.

Vape in moderation

Limiting vaping frequency will help to prevent health issues such as breathing difficulties, bacterial infections, raised blood pressure, and brain function problems.

Inhale less vapour

Inhaling vapour can be harmful; the more you inhale, the more dangerous it becomes. One way to reduce inhalation is to vape slowly by holding your mouth open for a few seconds as if smoking a cigarette.

Maintain good oral hygiene

Good oral hygiene is crucial for safe vaping. Vaping can cause gum recession, irritation, soreness, and cavities. To prevent these symptoms, regularly brush and floss, and visit your dentist for cleaning and oral screenings.

The Lithium-Ion batteries used in vape devices are used in millions of different devices worldwide and are considered safe when used correctly. However, they can pose a fire risk when overcharged, short-circuited, submerged in water or if their casing is damaged. Although vapes have a built-in safety circuit for your protection, it is important to take precautions to prevent this from happening.

Battery Safety Rules

• Never recharge a disposable vape battery. Unless indicated on the packaging, disposable vapes are designed for 1-time use only.
• Do not attempt to open or break battery cells.
• Avoid exposing batteries to mechanical shock.
• Do not short-circuit batteries.
• Do not expose batteries to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
